In-Depth Look: Pay-to-Click Sites

This is our first post of IDL (In-Depth Look), where we analyze and talk about how a certain method of making money works, or how good a particular site works. This post is about Pay-to-Click sites (PTC sites) for short.

As you may have read previously, PTC has a humongous amount of potential, and it is the easiest way of earning money. It basically involves repetitive, daily clicking of advertisements, and getting paid for it. Money can be a few dollars a month, or if you put enough work into it, hundreds a month.

Why such a diversity in the payload? How does it work?

Sites pay for the amount of ads clicked. On average across all PTC sites, there would be around 8-10 ads a day, and usually the payment of 1c per ad-click is the norm on most sites. You’re thinking that 8-10c a day is complete bull. That is the pay you get as a single-clicker; but if you have referrals, the story changes. Referrals are essentially, other people who also want to earn money, who register on a site, under your account. They still get payed normally, and everything is the same as a person without a referral. But the great benefit is that you get payed as well if your referrals click ads. Most sites will give a one referral click-1c to you ratio. Now lets redo the previous equation.

You: 8-10c per day

Your referral: 8-10c per day

You get double now, at 16-20c a day. Still not what you call a good days work right? Well lets add, say another four referrals into that little sum.

You: 8-10c per day

Your 5 referrals: 40-50c per day

That’s 48-60c a day. Which is a lot better. You see, the more referrals you have, the more you get. Now, lets get our imaginations to wander a bit. Say you have 600 referrals.

You: 8-10c per day

Your 600 referrals: $48-$60 per day

Now that is a LOT better. Over a months time, that gives $1440-$1800. Looks nice doesn’t it?

As you can see, the more referrals one has, the more money he receives. How do you get 600 people to sign up an account under yours you ask? Simple. Friends/family is a start. Then advertise on the internet, people do it all the time. They go: “This site is a great way to get money, sign up now!” and they give a link, that link leads to the registration form, with you as the person they are referring under. Great system isn’t it?

After you get a few more people, you can start spending. But that surely wouldn’t get you so many referrals right? Well quite a few sites offers referrals for sale. During registration, if you didn’t sign up under another account, they can put you under someone that pays for it. They could sell 500 referrals for $50 or something like that. Since it doesn’t affect the people (they still earn money), it’s win-win.

A problem to this is that they just grab anyone who aren’t under someone else. There’s no guarantee that they will click ads, how many do click ads is complete chance.

That is basically it for the clickers, a simple, yet effective system.

Now, why do sites offer these services? How do they pay people?

Advertisers pay those sites to get people to visit their sites (through the ad-clicking), and those sites pay you part of the profit. Some sites could charge up to $15 for 500 views, which $5 goes back to the people who click ads. It’s a fair, legitimate system, which is a win for everyone; advertisers get page-visits, host sites earn money, and people who look to earn money online achieve that goal.

That’s all for the first post of IDL, we hope this helps you understand Pay-to-Click sites better. If you want a actual site link, check our directory, which we will update regularly when we find good sites.

Until next time!

Telling What’s a Scam

There are a lot of sites giving people the opportunity to earn money, but there is a problem; some of them scam you for money.

Ever heard of something like: “We can help you make $30,000 in two weeks! Just buy our guide for $49!”. Something like that is a scam, where you pay them money and in return you either get something that doesn’t work, something you didn’t intend for, or most commonly, nothing at all.

So how do you tell the difference between a scam and the real deal? With the help of our website, you will be able to tell them apart almost instantly.

1. Check it out. If it asks for money, check it out thoroughly. If what you pay for is something like a “premium” service, where the site has a free section, usually it should be OK. If it asks for a payment upfront for the only product they offer, there is a good chance that you may end up getting nothing.

Also, if it asks for credit card details, be sure to see what it is for. If they get your number, they could spend it on whatever they want. Usually, reputable sites will accept PayPal, where you send them a specific amount.

A very common thing on scam sites is saying there are limited products left, and that they are on sale. An example would be like “We only have 8 left! Half price if you buy it now!”. This is to make people think that if they hurry they will get a better deal, and to make them rush more by knowing there is limited stock.

2. Site design. This doesn’t always apply, but you usually you can see the simple design of the site to identify scams. Usually, simply, easily-made designs are the ones that scam. A professional looking site means a lot of work was put into it. But a site with simple text, big red fonts, bright colors in general, simple backgrounds, and no logo’s etc is in a higher likely-hood of being a scam (a site like that could be done in ten minutes if you knew what you were writing).

3. Testimonies. Testimonies can be a useful way to tell if a site is scamming you. Many sites have testimonies where random people give these comments saying the site/product was great and you should buy it. Some sites even have a photo of the people. This is a major mistake on their part. If you bought a product online and thought it was good would you actually send them a photo of yourself, and brag about how amazing their product was? While you may do the latter, the former is breaking a rule everyone knows; don’t disclose your private information on the internet. In fact, many of these testimonies are stock photos coupled with made up rubbish comments

But there are sites that have proper testimonies, how to tell if it is proper? Well, you’ll usually find it on a forum if they have one, where you have to register yourself and post as a community. This means genuine users will be making a testinomy.

4. Community. Similar to testimonies. If you see a site with a active community (ie. large forum etc), usually that site is not scamming people.

These are the four most basic methods of scam identifications. Remember there are other ways, and there are ALWAYS exceptions (a dodgy looking site may just be newly constructed; still legit etc). But these guidelines will be enough as a general identifier.

10 Ways to Earn Money Online You Never Knew About

Ever fancied something small on eBay but never bought it because it was just that much too expensive? Or maybe you’re looking to get out of the nitty-gritty of your daily corporate life and make some real bucks online. There is real potential for you to earn real money online, and while it might not be as mundane as the office, it certainly is a harder path.

So here’s from least to greatest, 10 ways to make money online that you (probably) haven’t heard about. Do note that many of these methods have potential and require user effort. Such as, clicking 10 ads a day, earning 10c a day could end up being more than writing one article and leaving it for a year.

Those are 10 good ways of earning money to get you started. There are other methods, and hundreds of sites for each method. So, get started in earning money online today!

1. Pay-to-Click (PTC)

Yes, they are often scams, and yes, they only earn you a few cents to a dollar a day, butPTC sites are one of the most common, most easy, and most lazy methods of earning money online, and it has a lot of potential to boot. It basically comes down to clicking ads everyday for a company that hosts them, which you get payed money for (usually around 1c a click). The number of ads range from site to site, and have a limit everyday. If you did this slowly you would earn around 10c a day, which really isn’t much.

But the real potential stands in the referral system. In most websites you can have people signing up under you. Their account has nothing changed, its just that you get benefits. When they click on ads, their profits go to you too. So lets say you make 10c a day, and have 9 friends signing up under you; you will get $1 a day. The more referrals you get, the more you earn. The problem lies in getting referrals in the first place. Some sites sell referrals, but they aren’t garunteed to be active (they still have to click ads for you to get the bonus).

Visit our directory for a list of these pay-to-click sites. Many sites are dubious, however, there are some large sites that are probably legitimate. Here are a few that I could find:

Bux.to

Adbux.com

2. Writing Content

Article writing is basically what the name implies. You write articles; what it’s about, format etc depends on the site. You write articles either for a website, or your own blog. You usually get paid on amount of views, approval rating etc, and the amount varies.

If you put a lot of effort into it, and write a lot of good articles, you can earn quite a lot. But doing that is a bit time consuming (unless you enjoy writing). The sorts of articles you can write depends on sites, things can range from reviews, to essays, to just a blog of your life.

So, where can you do this? Well, there are some sites like Triond and About.com that share advertising revenue with their content creators. There are also sites that pay you to blog like PayPerPost.

3. Starting your own blog or website

If there’s something you’re very passionate about, perhaps you should think about starting a blog or website about that subject. You never know, you might just become the expert in your field. Here, you can earn money while doing what you love!

So how do you make money from this? You apply to get these ads from several different companies, they will usually inspect your site, and if they find it appropriate, they will give you ads suitable for your website. Most probably, when someone clicks on that ad, the advertising company gets money from people who wanted to publish that ad in the first place, and part of that profit returns to you.

The returns vary on the company, the type of ad, etc. Therefore this method, if you pick the right companies, can have very beneficial returns, the main problem is getting people to click on them. You’ve seen ads on sites before right? They usually seem like spam and most ward you away. You won’t get paid if no one clicks on them, so you have to be smart.

There are also ads that are paid per thousand impressions of your viewers, however, you don’t really need to bother about them until you’ve got things sorted, as they often pay very low rates. Ie. 5 cents per thousand impressions.

4. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing involves making a partnership with another company for either you to sell their products on your site or simply directly to another person, or for them to sell your product on theirs. This is a win for both parties, as the seller is widening their audience, allowing greater sales.

The host gets more attention to their site, and is paid part of the profits by the seller, a certain margin, usually around 10-20% of the product’s cost. Depending on what you sell you can earn quite a bit of money, but remember part of the profits go to the other party, so it’s always better to do it yourself!

5. Buying items cheap, selling it expensive

This way of making money is very similar to affiliate marketing, except the items are yours. Basically, you get something for a low price (you can sell pretty much anything on the internet), and you sell it off for a higher price. Depending on what you are selling you can earn quite a lot.

You may also be interested in selling off your old items on a site like Ebay, antiques and unique items can be worth a lot, and you may be surprised what people will buy. The main difference between this and affiliate marketing is that while the profits go mainly to the company selling their products, since this is your own, you get the profits, you can set your own prices etc.

6. Farming Gold in WoW

This is a method that many people probably can’t or won’t do, but it is a valid method, and with hard effort, can be worth the effort. Game merchanting or Gold Farming is basically where you gather something rare within a online game, and you sell it for real life money. The most common example would be gold farming; this is where you aquire large amounts of money in-game and sell it for real money to other players. Another is making a very good in-game character and selling the account for a large sum of money. This method requires a lot of time (to aquire the in-game items) but it usually pays out very well. Some rare in-game items can be sold for over a hundred dollars apiece, and good game accounts can be sold for a few hundred.

7. Completing surveys

This method is where you have to complete surveys for companies by either answering questions, by simply selecting an answer, or writing full paragraph responses. Depending on which site, the pay can be very good. You can end up earning hundreds in a month by completing a large number of surveys. They usually aren’t very hard to do either.

However, those sites that aren’t scams are sites with real customers looking for legitimate research, so be prepared to know what you’re responding on.

8. Completing offers and trials

This method is one that has had much controversial debate over it. This is where you complete a usually free offer/trial for a site, and get a number of referrals to do the same, and you get something in return. What you get can range from actual money to an Ipod or a home entertainment system. The debate is if these actually work or if they are a scam.

Both sides are correct actually. Some really are legitimate and have been tested by major news companies, while others are a outright scam, where you don’t get anything in the end. The value of what you get can be very good (home entertainment systems are worth a lot); you just have to find the ones that really work (which we will tell you).

9. Working for a professional site

This is pretty much office work, done at home. You can work for a professional site (games, news, there are all sorts) and do things such as write articles for them, moderate their site etc. This usually comes at a wage based on how much you complete, and is usually time consuming (in some cases full time). Applying to sites like these requires a full resume, and you would usually have to be an active member of their community, but just like an office job. But the pay’s good.

10. Freelance Jobs

Freelance jobs is the one of the best methods of earning money online. Because of that it is also the hardest. Freelance working basically means you let people hire you to do one-off jobs for them in your field of profession. This may be coding a website, designing a logo or making an advanced Flash animation; the list goes on and on. You usually have to be quite good in your field, otherwise other freelance workers will be picked over you. This may sound hard, but the rewards are quite good.

Depending on who hired you, the amount of attention the particular job has, and your personal skill, you could get payed a few thousand dollars for completing a single job. Those are some of the best jobs, which could take some time to complete, while there are also jobs that could be done in an hour, but with significantly less pay. This is the best way of earning money, and if you are skilled in any field (be it flash-work, or a very good writer etc) you should give it a shot.
